We started this little brokerage with the vision of creating a place where our agents and clients can get the support and services they need in a friendly and professional environment. 20 years later, we are proud to have accomplished exactly that.
Our office and the environment we have cultivated is one of professionalism mixed with a comfortable family atmosphere where our agents and clients can tote along pets or kids and still get business done. And today, Main Street Realtors is a respected name in Santa Cruz County and beyond, providing the full range of real estate services in a friendly boutique setting, and our ongoing role is to be the one-stop shop where all your real estate needs are met.
Here at Main Street, we believe an agent gains respect more by the extent of their knowledge and ability to help people reach their goals, than by the kind of car they drive, the kind of clothes they wear, or frankly, even the amount of business they handle.
Instead of competing over who’s the best, we prefer to share with our peers and make it a priority to be accessible and help our clients and fellow agents as needed. DATTA KHALSA
Broker/Owner
Datta opened Main Street Realtors in 2003 to create the ideal environment of support for clients and agents alike, offering high-level service in sales, leasing, and property management. Highly active in representing his clients, Datta is respected as a top-tier professional in both residential and commercial real estate. In addition, he is one of only a few select brokers in the area adept in the handling of business opportunity sales, as a member of the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB).
In the wake of the economic downturn of 2008, and after years of building his own successful portfolio, he co-founded the Firmus Fund to provide accredited investors a diversified vehicle for their retirement assets, primarily in real estate and private equity loans. The fund represents the final facet to Datta’s uncommon capacity to assist his clients in every aspect of their real estate journeys, equally committed to their success and happiness with any project he takes on, no matter how large or small.
Datta is also deeply vested in the community, providing commentary and insight on real estate-related topics in his monthly column for the weekly newspaper The Good Times, in addition to hosting the public-access real estate show BTS Presents: Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz County Real Estate, Behind the Scenes, on Santa Cruz Community Television (SCTV). He finds these mediums an effective means to help him sustain and share his deeper sense of social and political conscience.
Datta has a love for tennis, yoga, and music, with a strong dedication to family and friends, and he enjoys rewarding home life with his wife Mari, their daughter Sibri and a houseful of animals including 2 blind cats and the family dog.

CAROL LERNO
Broker Associate, Property Manager, Notary &
Director: Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors
Carol Lerno (CCRM, Broker Associate) is a Property Manager with Main Street Realtors here in Soquel. In this role, she oversees the management of approximately 180 doors including homes, commercial properties, multifamily dwellings, and vacation rentals. Her focus is on working with owners to provide the best Property Management services, including making all clients comfortable with the renting experience.
- Carol is no stranger to Real Estate and Property Management, having spent 12 years as a Realtor and obtaining her Broker license in 2012. Carol has been a property owner since 1972 and a resident of Santa Cruz County since 1978.
- Carol has served on several boards including the Terrace Court Condominium Association for 9 years (serving as President), and as Board President (5 years) and Office Facilitator at Villa Santa Cruz Mobile Home Park.
- She has also been a County Commissioner for Mobile Homes since 1997. Before joining Main Street Realtors in January 2014 Carol worked for 11 years with Sherman & Boone Associates and Portola Property Management. Prior to her Real Estate career, Carol spent 6 years as a banker.
- Carol has always been active in her heritage, belonging to (and serving on the boards of) multiple organizations. She has been a State Officer in the Portuguese Fraternal Organization where she learned responsible for Fiduciary duties. Carol has also been a Notary since 2007.

FARRAH GIBLIN
REALTOR® | Residential, Commercial, Business Sales | Transaction Coordinator
Meet Farrah Giblin, a California native from Discovery Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area. Despite coming from a family of realtors, land developers, and loan officers, she initially pursued a different career path. For over eight years, Farrah worked in marketing and community outreach, first at a local branch of a national grocery store chain, and then as the director of marketing and outreach for a local wellness center.
In 2016, Farrah decided to make a career change and officially joined the family business as a realtor®. She quickly found her stride and discovered that her extensive marketing, customer service, and outreach experience transferred seamlessly into the world of real estate. In early 2020, Farrah joined Main Street Realtors, where she works closely with the broker and founder, Datta Khalsa. Together, they specialize in a diverse range of deals, including residential, commercial, and business opportunities.
In 2022, Farrah moved to the small community of Hughson, CA, to be closer to her family and enjoy the small-town life. Soon, Main Street Realtors will open a new location in Hughson, where Farrah will help clients buy, sell, and invest in properties.

DEBORAH CALLOWAY

Deborah has over 30 years of real estate experience that includes purchasing, selling, developing, and leasing residential and commercial real estate and property management. Her perspective on community and economic growth and development is balanced with the work she has done in public open space acquisition and preservation. Deborah is proud to satisfy her clients’ requirements with sincere respect for all parties.
Locally she has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Santa Cruz County Association of REALTORS®. Her personal integrity and professional ethics always support and uphold the standards of the National Association of REALTORS® and California Association of REALTORS®.

Fred brings more than 20 years of Commercial & Residential Real Estate experience to Main Street Realtors. As a commercial broker, he guides his clients carefully through 1031 exchanges, tenant-in-common (TIC) deals, as well as apartment and other investment property purchases.
Fred provides his negotiating skills, honed from years of commercial experience, and astute knowledge as a property investor, to his work in Residential Real Estate, creating a distinct edge for his clients at every step of the home-buying process. Prior to becoming licensed in 1989, Fred worked with several East Bay engineering and development companies. He is the proud father of two girls and is active in several community and church groups.

Hailing from La Selva Beach, California in Santa Cruz County from a family of real estate investors and property developers, Shoghi has a knack for generating leads that promote economic growth and long term stability.
As a multilinguist fluent in Farsi, Shoghi is also adept at ensuring that all clients, whether they are searching for their very first home, a second home or an investment property, enjoy a seamless real estate experience. Outside of the office, Shoghi often spends time growing an array of vegetables, walking his dogs on the beach and taking a variety of yoga classes.

DAVID F. BECCARIA Broker Associate
David is working as a referring Real Estate Broker-Associate for Main Street Realtors. He assists his clients in locating agents for assistance in real estate transactions both in and out of Santa Cruz County.
Education: He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1977 with an undergraduate degree in Finance and from Golden Gate University in 1981 with an MBA in Real Estate.
Professional Licenses: He has held a Real Estate Broker's License in CA since January of 1979 and also holds Certified General Appraisal Licenses in both California and Oregon.
Affiliations: David holds the PMM (Property Management Master) designation in the California Association of Realtors. He holds the GAA and RAA designations (General Accredited Appraiser and Residential Accredited Appraiser) in the National Association of Realtors Appraisal Section. He holds the ASA, IFA, and IFAS designations in the American Society of Appraisers.
Real Estate Brokerage & Property Management: He has been involved in Real Estate Brokerage since 1979. He owned his own Real Estate/Property Management/Appraisal business in Capitola from 1987-2017. His prior experience includes residential and commercial real estate sales, leasing, & property management. He has been involved as either a listing or selling broker in over 375 transactions and has personally handled over 1,000 leases. He has handled real estate sales transactions in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Santa Clara, and San Benito Counties. He has assisted as the real estate broker in the successful completion of numerous IRS Section 1031 tax deferred exchanges for many of his investor clients. He also handled the liquidation of over 50 REO (Lender Owned)
properties over about a 5-year period (2009 – 2014). During the course of that assignment, he supervised extensive repairs as they were prepared for resale.
Other Information: David now resides in Medford, Oregon. He has completed or supervised over 10,000 appraisal reports over his 43+ year career. Currently, he is providing real estate appraisal services for Jackson and Josephine Counties in Oregon. He is also completing appraisal reports in California for updates of prior files, desktop valuations, and assignments that he works on with other colleagues. He has completed narrative appraisal reports in the State of California in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Lake, Madera, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Sonoma Counties.
